It is my true love for the 90s that attracted me to ebay in junior high, where I purchased old power rangers and xmen tshirts. In high school I grew out of them and found solace in the fact that 90s "vintage" was cool by the time I hit 11th grade. Now I can find fun t-shirts all over.
Being a camp counselor, I get eight consecutive weeks to take full advantage of wearing them. The rest of the year I sporadically wear these shirts to work out, sleep, or just when I feel a little nostalgic.
Here are some of the best of my collection:
Now I just need a few of my friends to buy Purple Parrots shirts and we can compete.
Doug Funny had fantastic music taste. The Beets were so cool with hits like "Shout Your Lungs Out", "Killer Tofu", and "I Need More Allowance". This shirt would only be better if it said Killer Tofu Tour.
If you don't recognize this shirt, we probably can not be friends. Team Pup n Suds is the championship team of "soul skaters" from Brink! the Disney Channel Original Movie. I can't wait to wear this shirt with my blades and helmet.
Who loves orange soda? K-k-kel loves orange soda. Is it true? I do, I do, I do-o-o-o.
Kimberly was never my favorite power rangers by any means. However, she was like totally the coolest girl of the team. Sorry Trini. The boys at the playground always made me be her anyway.
We hold you in our hearts, when we think about you it makes me wanna... oh wait those aren't the real words. Well this is a shirt that sometimes upsets me at camp because not a single camper has any idea what it is referencing. Which also applies to the next shirt.
A kid walked up to me last summer and asked, "who is Mr. Feeny?" I almost started to cry. Mostly because everything I learned in life, I did learn from Mr. Feeny. If only TV would continue to air Boy Meets World, future generations wouldn't be so uninformed about important life lessons.
When this show aired, I was not allowed to watch it. My sister and I, in hopes of being able to participate in lunch table conversation on Mondays, sneaked into the basement to watch it. More than once it gave me nightmares. I still loved it.
After Tommy joined the show, he became my new favorite and remained that for the entire series. I wanted to buy the white ranger shirt but it looked silly even on the website's model.
Prior to Tommy, Jason was my favorite. I had a three foot tall stuffed doll of him.
This shirt is a big step up from my childhood.
If you have any fun 90s shirts you want to share with us, send 'em our way! We'd love to see them.
