Today we have a special treat for everyone-a guest blog! My brother Bart is basically an expert on many things 90's kids hold near and dear to their hearts (Goosebumps, Darkwing Duck, Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles, etc). here's the link to his blog if you want to read more.

As a kid, no matter what was happening at school, I always wanted to get home at 3
so I could watch the Disney Afternoon. As I grew up, it changed into Fox or KidsWB,
but during those 5 years of elementary school, all I wanted to do was sit down with my
homework and watch my after-school cartoons.
Disney Afternoon was a block of Disney shows on ABC shown at this prime slot, just as Saturday morning cartoons were, ranging from such greats as Ducktales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop and Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers. The shows rotated, bringing in new shows each year, but these have always been my favorites.
I thought back to these shows a few months ago on Free Comic Book Day (April 1—mark your calendars for next year) because there was a free Darkwing Duck/Rescue Rangers comic available. After I read it I immediately searched the library for DVDs of all these shows again. Just so you know if you also try, Disney is really lame and hasn’t released all this great programming on DVD. Even more lame is that I don’t think shows on the Disney channel today can really claim to be a well done as they were in the 90s.They told us it didn’t matter how small you were, you could still be a hero; even an adoptive parent could be a superhero, friends are always forever, and of course (as we all can relate to) a vault of gold coins is a great place to take a swim.
There were video games for almost all the shows as well, as Capcom likes to make a profit from Disney. Still a staple that rarely leaves my GameBoy, the Darkwing Duck game outnumbers any of the Ducktales games, but it’s only my opinion.
With Nickelodeon re-releasing their 90s shows, wouldn’t it be great if Disney followed suite and started showing these shows again, on Disney XD or as a new nighttime block. Why not have these at night instead of the same episode of Wizards of Waverly place for the 30th time.
