Anyway, a few weeks ago I was driving home from work around 11pm and was bored with the music on my playlists. I decided that I wanted to listen to something I used to love, so I chose a little bit of Dashboard. When "Saints and Sailors" kicked on, I remembered just how in love I had been with this band. I obnoxiously scream-sang the lyrics with the windows down and made a mental note to work on a new playlist. The rest of Places played for the remainder of the ride home and I was in a very good mood, despite the moody lyrics.
Now, Chris Carraba is just a moody songwriter who lost his magic a long time ago. Still, I want to thank Chris & his band (though they are rarely mentioned) for giving us Swiss Army Romance, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, and A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar. Here is to hoping that someday you will grace us with another album of genius, betrayal, and love. Here's to you, Chris Carraba!
