I found this little gem of a photo days ago, and I was so excited to post it on Christmas, but Brianna beat me to the Christmas post. We just had a very 1990s themed Christmas at my house, where Santa brought my brother and me Mario games, Pokemon Pajamas and the Power Rangers movie. I hope Santa Claus was just as nice to you, and if he wasn't, turn on the N'Sync Christmas CD to cheer yourself up.
Be sure to read Brianna's blog below, and keep checking back. Growin' Up 90s is going to be bigger and better in 2012. -Patsy MERRY CHRISTMAS BLOG READERS!
I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and gets to spend some much needed time with friends & family. This is my favorite time of year, I love giving people gifts, decorating, and Christmas music. This Christmas I got an Emergency car kit (complete with jumper cables, flares, and everything I'd need if my car broke down in the middle of nowhere), new boots, Marcel the Shell with shoes on book, a new sweater, and all 8 Harry Potter DVDs. What did you guys get? Now to my blog... "We read your blog, we just don't comment" So this is the response I get from most of my friends who have been reading the blog. They read it and they like it but they won't comment. Come on guys! We need the comments to keep us going and to remind us that people are reading. We write for ourselves but we also write to give you guys something to read and laugh about. If you don't comment, we don't know if what we are writing is funny or relevant to our audience. We'll keep writing but I hope you all leave some comments in the coming year. That's all I ask for this Christmas. Merry Christmas, Brianna We just found this delightful photo gallery tweeted by @90sgirlproblem. I suggest you review it before you go and write your letter to Santa. We did have a few of these toys in our house. I had Tickle Me Elmo and a Skip It, and Bart had a Talkboy (I'll still jealous), but there are a few things on here I still long for, like moon boots.
-Patsy <----Remember this guy? You know, the little paperclip that used to pop up while you were trying to write an assignment in Microsoft Word? Well most of us remember him as being a nuisance. However, I have been missing him lately. These days, as a graduate student, I could use some help with writing a better paper (since I receive no feedback from my professors). I remember getting annoyed like crazy when this little jerk would pop up constantly. I did NOT need help from a little paper clip to write my Honors essay. Yet, he was somewhat like a friend you had to accompany you while you spent hours typing up documents. West Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground was where I spent most of my days... oh wait. Right. I wasn't born in Philly. However, Patsy and I ARE considering moving together to Philadelphia at the end of this summer. I realize that this is far off but the excitement is building, TRUST ME. As our loyal readers of the blog, I need your opinions on some epic events to implement in our weekly and/or monthly routines in Philadelphia. I am going to lay out some of my ideas and then you guys tell me which ones sound awesome, which ones sound lame, and then any other ideas that seem like things Patsy and I would get a kick out of. This is why I owned platform sandals. Ten years ago, I would not have guessed that in 2011, I would still be hearing Britney Spears every time I turned on the radio in the car. I was fairly sure Britney was over after "I'm a Slave for You" (that video with the snake was weird). I actually don't know too much about Britney Spears (since I stopped reading Teen Beat in 2000), but one of my co-workers loves her so much that he is throwing a birthday party in her honor tomorrow night. As I was replying to the facebook invite, I got to thinking about what a big part the Mickey-Mouse Club member/ teenage idol/ crazy head shaver played in the 1990s. I still have every track on "Baby One More Time" memorized, an I used to watch MTV hoping the "Oops I Did it Again" video would come on. I know it's tough to believe, but Britney Spears is 30 years old today. THIRTY! Happy Birthday Britney Spears! I'm going to listen to "You Drive Me Crazy" on repeat in your honor.
