Bianca Lawson was born in 1979, making her 32 years old (she will be 33 this year). She has been acting since 1988, according to Wikipedia.
I would love to know her secret for still being able to pass for a teenager, at least in Hollywood. I mean come on, she's been acting since before I was born and I am 22!
Many shows these days cast actors who are older than their characters, mostly because it saves them from having to hire tutors or limit the minor's work week. Usually the people you see playing a high school student are actually in their early to mid-twenties (this is why I was super confused going into high school when no one looked as mature as Chad Michael Murray). I believe that some of the cast members of Glee are in their late twenties. However, none of these people are familiar faces to us. When you start casting actors from the early '90s to play the same age characters that they played then, that becomes questionable (unless they never stopped playing that character like Chantay on Degrassi: The Next Generation who has been in high school for 8 seasons and no one thought we'd notice). Imagine if ABC called up Ben Savage or Rider Strong to play high school students in a new television series aimed at teens? I don't see that going over well.
What do you think? Do you believe Bianca Lawson as a teenage lesbian? Does it bother you that Chantay Black was like 26 before she finally graduated from Degrassi Community School? What other stars have you seen pop back up into film/television trying to pass for their much younger selves? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
